About Us
The Eleven was born one hazy post-GCSE summer by two teenagers with a little idea and a grand imagination.
Rob O’Donovan and Ben Gateley began to develop The Eleven, a new breed of teenage club nights to quell the frustration of young people desperate for independence but too young for a conventional London night out.
Over time, the events grew and brands became interested in how they could attach themselves and their promotional messages to the valuable youth audience and networks The Eleven had created.
So they started asking questions – who? what? why? where? – and it became obvious that many of the world’s most iconic youth brands were struggling to understand the fast-paced and ever changing lifestyles of their young target consumers. This was coupled with an ever-changing media landscape and an abundance of poorly crafted, patronising and irrelevant, yet highly expensive, marketing efforts, and the collective of young people that had helped grow The Eleven thought they could do better.
And then it happened… The Eleven is now one of the leading forces in youth marketing within the UK. Rob and Ben, now 21, are based out of an old brewery in East London’s Brick Lane. With a room full of other teenagers and students, they work for clients big and small, primarily within the UK and US, on the premise that the best way to get a job done well is to go the source. Young people for young people.
